Meet our Guest Designer for sketch # 42 !!

Please welcome our lovely Guest Designer for Sketch # 42 .... the talented Jody Dent-Pruks !!! She is an Aussie gal and a member of Write. Click. Scrapbook., the inspiration collective. Here is a peek into Jody's life and her creative process as well as and her lovely take on the sketch !!

My name is Jody Dent-Pruks and I live in Wollongong, NSW with Gary, my husband of 21 years and my two sons Oscar (17) and Byron (13). I work full time in a library and community centre, and I am a dedicated soccer mum, kid chauffer and self confessed neat nick. I love to have things neat and organized and living in a household of boys (who do not share this passion) this is one of my biggest challenges!

My addictions include, but are not limited to: blog hopping, magazines, ferrero roche chocolates, bad reality TV and movies from the 80’s (think Dirty Dancing and you will be on the right track).

I squeeze my scrapping in by staying up very late at night, usually on the weekends. When I scrapbook I must have my computer always on hand. You will never see my hand writing on any of my layouts! I also need a clean and tidy table to start…it doesn’t stay this way, but it has to start off clean.

I would say my style is clean and simple – I love straight lines and lots of white space to keep me calm! My favourite scrapbooking colours are white, kraft and greens, although I am trying to cast my colour net a little wider these days and I went wild and crazy with the blues for the layout I did for this sketch.

My camera is a Canon 450D and my favourite lens is my 50mm. I also love my Canon IXUS990IS point and shoot, which travels in my handbag all the time and was the only reason I was able to start and finish Project 365 in 2009!

Patterned Paper – Basic Grey – Aged & Confused - Vagabond

Stamp – Heidi Swapp

Ink – Staz On – black & Ranger – Distress Ink – Tim Holtz – broken china

I loved the sketch because it appealed to my “straight edges” heart! After printing out my photos and seeing where I had space I decided to flip the sketch. I used patterned paper to give the layout some pop and added dimension with the circle accents that I attached with foam dots.

  1. I absolutely ADORE your take on the sketch Jody!! Thanks for playing with us this month.

  2. Thanks Lisa, it was fun to be able to sit down and have half the thinking done for me!
