Welcome back to Inspired Blueprints for the first time in 2014! You may have noticed that things have been a little quiet around here lately. There has been lots of planning in the background to make sure we bring you loads of inspiration this year (stay tuned...it's all secret squirrels at the moment). Sketches will now be posted each Tuesday instead of Friday. This way you can print the sketches off, and get prepared for your cropping sessions later in the week!
Without further ado, I bring you sketch 116! A simple single photo sketch, with loads of room for interpretation. Pull out that feature photo, and start scrapping...
Layout by Leigh Penner
Leigh has swapped around the photo and journaling tag to suit her photo better. Love the non-traditional colours Leigh has used for this Christmassy layout.
Sarah has stayed true to the sketch, using loads of pretty Prima embellishments. This layout is typical "Sarah"...an every day photo of one of her boys, but with loads of bling and butterflies. See, you can add pretty embellishments to a masculine layout!
Naomi has used this sketch to create an autumn inspired layout. Naomi has created the fallen leaves by using a Sizzix die and Martha Stewart punches. To add further dimension, Naomi has the leftover punched cardstock as a mask, inking more leaves in brown.
Norine has stayed pretty true to this week's sketch, just adding a mini photo and some journaling to the embellishment cluster at the top corner. As a result of moving her scrap space and rediscovering some things, she's been able to include a lot of older products from her stash! That's the great thing about clusters...little bits of everything can be used, no matter how old or new it is. Together they look fresh and fun!
To add a modern twist to Renee's Christmas photo, she has used washi tape in black to add a little interest to the page. Renee has also added some bling for a little more Christmas some magic on her page. The mdf words really pop on the black washi! This is a sketch is so versatile, easy to use and convert to 8.5x11!!
The branches in this sketch are what inspired Fiona's whole layout. Fiona has kept the basic design of the sketch, reversing it to suit her photo. Fiona has also added lots of paper layers behind her photo. The colours and doilies really enhance this pretty layout.
Rikki has remained true to the sketch, creating this simple and effective layout. Rikki has added plenty of fussy cut flowers, and an oversized title. Love the little fussy cut flower at the end of her title.
Steffanie has moved the photo to the right side of the page, and changed the embellishments to suit the theme of her layout. In every other aspect, you can still see the basic sketch design is intact. I love the sprinkling of wood veneer stars...they're Steffanie's favorite embellishment at the moment!
